Robin van Persie set to return for Manchester United against Swansea

Robin van Persie will be fit to make his Manchester United comeback against Swansea on Saturday.

The Netherlands captain missed United's 3-1 win in the FA Cup at Preston on Monday with a minor injury, but manager Louis van Gaal has confirmed his nine-goal joint top scorer will be back in contention for the trip to the Liberty Stadium .

"He shall be fit, so it is dependable if I select him," Van Gaal told a news conference after United's victory at Deepdale.

Van Persie's return is likely to put Radamel Falcao under greater pressure to keep his place in the side after the Colombian was substituted with United losing a goal down to their League One opponents.

Falcao has scored just once in his last seven games and while Van Persie has only struck twice in nine outings, he has nine goals this season.

Van Persie missed United's 2-1 home defeat to Swansea on the opening day of the campaign as Van Gaal gave him time off after the World Cup, where he led Netherlands to third place.

Midfielder Ander Herrera, who scored the United equaliser at Preston on only his second start of 2015, looked forward to an FA Cup quarterfinal against Arsenal.

"We have to keep playing in this competition against Arsenal who are one of the best teams at the moment," the Spaniard told MUTV.

"But we are Manchester United -- we have a very good spirit and we showed it today. We have very good players and very good staff, and we are going to improve."
