West Brom and Tony Pulis appoint Jonathan Gould goalkeeper coach

Tony Pulis has added goalkeeping coach Jonathan Gould to his backroom staff at West Brom.

The 46-year-old will link up with the Baggies on Tuesday, replacing Dean Kiely who left the club last month.

Carlo Nash, who played under Pulis at Stoke, had also been under consideration for the role.

Ex-Preston and Celtic keeper Gould, the son of former Wales boss Bobby, joins from Wellington Phoenix of the A-League.

Albion's professional development phase goalkeeping coach Mark Naylor will now revert to his role working with the club's young keepers.

Director of football administration Richard Garlick told the club's official site: "This is no reflection on the job Mark has done.

"He has really stepped up and done a sterling job and has shown all the attributes we were always confident he possessed.

"I know from talking to Tony that he, too, has been really impressed with him but he's obviously recruited a more experienced coach in Jonathan."

West Brom smashed West Ham out of the FA Cup on Sunday by a final score of 4-0, and are also in the midst of a relegation battle to stay in the Premier League next season.
