LONDON -- Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has expressed his concern over Aaron Ramsey's ongoing injury issues after the midfielder sustained another hamstring problem.
Ramsey limped off shortly after coming off the bench in Tuesday's 2-1 victory against Leicester at Emirates Stadium, and after the match Wenger said he was trying to discover the cause of the recurring muscular issues that have continually disrupted his season.
The Wales midfielder was also troubled by injuries last term, having shown his best form for the club in the campaign before that, and Wenger said he is trying everything to get to the bottom of the problem.
"We haven't found the underlying reason," Wenger told a news conference ahead of Sunday's FA Cup fifth-round tie at home to Middlesbrough. "There is clearly a reason, whether it is medical or biomechanical.
"He is a guy who is serious. He works hard and has a controlled and disciplined life so there is no reason why he should have muscular problems.
"We have individualised training for the players and [injury] prevention for the players and that is not a case that has been neglected. It is just we have to find the reason why that happens. This is just a small injury, a grade one [hamstring tear]. We are looking at a couple of weeks."
Wenger had more upbeat news on the returning Jack Wilshere, who is back in full training and has an outside chance to play some role against Championship leaders Boro.
"Jack Wilshere is back in normal training, but he has been out for four months and misses normal competition," he said. "He worked very hard, focused, committed, but it will take him a whole to get back to a competitive level.
"He is motivated to come back as quickly as possible. Competition gives you that sharpness that training cannot give you because it is a combination of fitness and speed of decision-making. It takes a while to get that back."
