Kevin Doyle approached by Colorado Rapids over MLS move - sources

Republic of Ireland striker Kevin Doyle has been contacted by Colorado Rapids over the possibility of a move to Major League Soccer, sources have told ESPN FC.

Doyle, 31, is out of favour at Wolverhampton Wanderers and appears certain to leave the Championship club when his current contract expires in the summer, and he could now consider a move to the United States.

After his loan spell with Premier League side Crystal Palace ended without success last month, Doyle has returned to Wolves to see out the final few months of his deal and does not expect to play a part in their push for promotion to the Premier League after manager Kenny Jackett made it clear long ago that he had no place for the striker in his first-team plans.

Doyle had offers to move on during the winter transfer window but was keen to remain at Molineux as he awaits the arrival of a new child in the coming weeks.

The striker, who has 61 senior caps for Ireland, is keen to revive his career in the summer and would consider a move to MLS, even if he may prefer to stay in England if the right opportunity arises.
