Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo: We will not give up title hope

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo insists that his teammates have not given up hope of overhauling Chelsea to win the Premier League title this season.

Rojo, 24, joined United from Sporting Lisbon for 16 million pounds last summer but has seen his new side slip out of title contention with a poor start to the season.

Ahead of the game with West Ham on Sunday, Louis van Gaal's men are 13 points behind Chelsea, but the Argentina international claims they will still try.

"I thought Chelsea were far ahead of us in the table, but everyone at United says we can catch them," he said. "We will not give up hope. We'll first aim to overtake Manchester City, and it is a good challenge for us.

"We have even better chances of winning the FA Cup. I am in good shape, and I'm happy with the way our results are going.

"Louis van Gaal is a coach who gives us a lot of confidence. You can tell he knows a lot about football. He always tries to advise us, and if he spots something about your game he'll tell you in private and show you videos about it.

"Angel Di Maria got off to a good start with us. He had a quiet spell, but he's now regaining his best form. He is coming to terms with the recent attempted robbery at his house.

"When I scored my goal against Cambridge the fans began chanting: 'Argentina, Argentina.' It makes me very proud for this to happen in England."
