Harry Kane would love to stay with Tottenham for entire career

Tottenham's Harry Kane says he would love to model his career after Ledley King and stay with Spurs for his entire career.

Kane, who has scored 10 goals in 19 Premier League appearances this season, signed a new deal on Monday that will keep him at White Hart Lane until 2020.

And the 21-year-old says he would like to stay even longer than that, telling the London Evening Standard that he could see himself playing with Tottenham until he retires.

"I don't see why not," Kane said. "Tottenham are a great club on the rise. I hope we get better and I'd love to stay here for as long as possible.

"If I'm still here in 10 years, I'd be over the moon. A lot of players today, when they do well, they end up going to another club or moving abroad. It depends on the situation at the time but at the moment, I'm looking to be a Tottenham player for many years.

Kane cited as inspirations one-club players like King, who played 13 years with Spurs before retiring in 2012.

"You look at players like Ledley, Ryan Giggs and Steven Gerrard," he said. "To stay at one club at the top level the way they have shows how good they have been.

"It's great for them and great for the game. It's fantastic for the fans to have players who have been there for so many years."

Kane said that even though he has secured his financial future for the next few years, he still has lofty goals to reach.

"I'd like to have won some trophies by then, because that's how you're defined as a player, as well as to be playing regularly for England," Kane said.
