Ligue 1: Andre-Pierre Gignac's penalty puts Marseille into second place

Andre-Pierre Gignac scored a second-half penalty for Marseille as they beat Evian 1-0 to move back second in Ligue 1.

Paris Saint Germain's 1-0 win over Rennes on Friday night pushed them down to third, but Gignac's strike got them back up the ladder.

Montpellier failed to put Monaco under pressure in the race for Europe as they were held to a goalless draw by lowly Lorient.

Ten places separated the sides at kick-off but it was Lorient who did all the running, missing several chances against their off-key opponents.

There was no third straight loss for Lille as they drew 1-1 with Nantes, but they will feel it could have been more.

Jonathan Delaplace put them ahead in the 10th minute, only for Oswaldo Vizcarrondo to level things up 10 minutes from the end.

Aleksandar Pesic scored the only goal as Toulouse overcame Reims 1-0, with his 41st-minute strike putting them four points clear of the drop zone.

There were two penalties in the clash between Lens and Bastia, with Ahmed Kantari rescuing a point for the hosts in a 1-1 draw.

Kantari responded to Ryan Boudebouz's 62nd-minute penalty with an 80th-minute spot-kick, as Bastia extended their unbeaten run to 10 while Lens are second bottom.

Metz remain bottom, with their game against Nice -- spoiled almost entirely by heavy snowfall -- ending 0-0.
