Chelsea-bound Juan Cuadrado says goodbye to Fiorentina supporters

Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado has sent a message to the club's fans as he prepares to complete his move to Chelsea.

Cuadrado, 26, arrived in London on Saturday morning for his medical ahead of putting pen to paper on his transfer to the Premier League leaders.

Viola coach Vincenzo Montella said on Friday that the sale of the player was inevitable this window, admitting his club could not turn down the offer.

And Cuadrado posted on Instagram to thank his supporters at his soon to be former club.

The message reads: "Florence will always be in my heart. The people are extraordinary. The fans full of passion. The Viola launched my career and gave me the opportunity to grow also thanks to a great club and exceptional teammates.

"Now a new journey awaits me. New emotions. New objectives. But always with Florence in my heart. Thank you to everyone! Juan."

The Colombia international signed a new contract including a buyout clause worth 27 million pounds (35 million euros) last summer, which Chelsea are said to have matched - in part by loaning Mohamed Salah to the Serie A club.

Mourinho is known to have been an admirer of Cuadrado since the World Cup.

The player's versatility on the wing offers Chelsea greater tactical variety and means central midfield is more covered than when they have a player like Schurrle or Willian in the side -- something that has been an issue in big games when Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic play as a two.
