Parma's Daniele Galloppa hints at walkout over unpaid wages

Midfielder Daniele Galloppa has threatened there could be a mass walkout of Parma if they do not pay his and his teammates' wages by the middle of next month.

Antonio Cassano rescinded his contract with the Gialloblu last week in a row over unpaid wages and Galloppa says the situation is becoming untenable.

"All we've heard so far are words from the club. Now we want action," Galloppa said on his club's website. "We've set a deadline and after this date, we are going to have to take matters into our own hands.

"We've been silent for seven months. We just want to be taken care of. We've been correct to say this to the president before taking any kind of steps. We will act as a team, once the deadline in February has passed."

Until that date, and even without being paid, Galloppa has vowed to give his all for the cause. Parma are rooted to the foot of Serie A with only four wins and a draw so far this season.

"We've got dignity," he said. "But I respect the decision Antonio has taken because he was just being honest with himself. We want to go on with our heads held high."
