Wolfsburg: Nothing concrete to report on Chelsea's Andre Schurrle

Wolfsburg chief executive Klaus Allofs says there is "nothing concrete to report" regarding a potential move for Chelsea attacker Andre Schurrle.

Schurrle, 24, has been linked with a possible return to the Bundesliga gaining in recent weeks, with speculation building ever since Jose Mourinho said on Friday that the Blues could be persuaded to cash in on the World Cup winner if they received "a phenomenal offer."

Bundesliga club Wolfsburg -- who signed Belgium international Kevin De Bruyne from Chelsea last January -- were reportedly leading the race for Schurrle's signature, but late on Monday rejected rumours of a transfer.

When asked whether it is true that Wolfsburg are interested in signing Schurrle in January, Allofs said in kicker: "A very clear no."

But on Tuesday at the German Football League's New Year reception in Frankfurt, Allofs told SID that "there is nothing concrete to report" regarding Schurrle.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports reported that progress has been made between both clubs, but that so far no bids have been made and a transfer fee in excess of 30 million pounds -- with Germany's SID reporting a possible fee of 30 million euros -- is currently turning negotiations into "a waiting game."

Earlier Bild reports stated that Schurrle's agent Ingo Haspel and his father Joachim spent the last weekend in London, and The Guardian also claimed a Wolfsburg delegation had held talks with the Premier League club.
