Man City, Chelsea, Spurs, Swansea, Southampton knocked out of FA Cup

Bradford brilliantly responded from two goals down to win 4-2 at Chelsea and dump the Premier League leaders out of the FA Cup at Stamford Bridge.

League One City, who were 2-0 down after 38 minutes, claimed the biggest scalp of their recent giant-killing exploits to advance to the fifth round and end Chelsea's hopes of challenging for an unprecedented quadruple.

Chelsea reject Filipe Morais levelled the fourth-round tie with 15 minutes to go before Jon Stead, the scorer of City's first, teed up Andy Halliday for the winner eight minutes from time.

And substitute Mark Yeates tucked in a stoppage-time fourth to inflict the Blues' first home loss this season and spark jubilant celebrations from Phil Parkinson's visitors.

Chelsea loanee Patrick Bamford and Kike struck in the second half as Championship side Middlesbrough produced a shock 2-0 win over Premier League champions Manchester City in the FA Cup.

England under-21 international Bamford pounced on a defensive misunderstanding early in the second half and substitute Kike settled a thrilling fourth-round tie in injury time at the Etihad Stadium.

City dominated the first half but were denied repeatedly by Boro's former Real Madrid goalkeeper Tomas Mejias and their luck seemed out when Frank Lampard's deflected 89th-minute shot hit the post. Had that gone in they might have snatched a replay but Kike stunned them in the closing moments.

Southampton and Crystal Palace played out a five-goal thriller as Alan Pardew's men came from behind to beat the in-form Saints 3-2.

Graziano Pelle opened the scoring on nine minutes but Marouane Chamakh levlled soon after. Scott Dann's own goal was then cancelled out within five minutes by Arsenal loanee Yaya Sanogo and Chamakh struck again before half-time to seal their progress.

Rudy Gestede showed why he is reported to be interesting a number of Premier League sides with the crucial goal as Blackburn sent nine-man Swansea tumbling out with a 3-1 win.

Kyle Bartley was sent off in only the seventh minute for a denying a clear goalscoring opportunity but Gylfi Sigurdsson put the 10 men ahead in the 21st minute with a glorious strike.

However, Rovers levelled two minutes later through Chris Taylor and substitute Gestede, formerly of Cardiff, put the hosts ahead with 12 minutes left. There were fewer than 6,000 fans at Ewood Park but they went home happy after Craig Conway made it 3-1 in the 89th minute.

And there was still a sting in the tail to come for Swansea as Sigurdsson showed his frustration with a reckless lunge at Taylor to become the second visiting player sent off.

Roberto Soldado won an early penalty for Tottenham which was converted by Andros Townsend, but Leonardo Ulloa and Jeffrey Schlupp and struck back as Spurs were knocked out by fellow Premier League side Leicester 2-1 at White Hart Lane.

After a good start from the Foxes, who forced a couple of fine saves from Michel Vorm, Spurs went ahead from the penalty spot after 19 minutes through Andros Townsend.

Leicester's frustration grew as they were denied what looked a clear penalty before half-time, with nine million pound signing Andrej Kramaric instead booked for diving, but their industry was rewarded with seven minutes left when Leonardo Ulloa swept the ball into the bottom corner.

There was then late drama in stoppage time when Vorm allowed a scuffed shot from Schlupp to squirm over the line to send the Foxes into the fifth round.

Liverpool avoided an FA Cup upset at home to Bolton but even on a day of shocks it was not much of an achievement after a toothless display against Championship opponents Bolton.

There was a distinct absence of the vigour and verve of their exhilarating second-half performance against Chelsea in the Capital One Cup in midweek as Neil Lennon succeeded where Jose Mourinho had failed in keeping a clean sheet at Anfield.

The visitors defended resolutely, if sometimes illegally, to earn a replay after Liverpool failed to break them down and the game ended 0-0.

Victor Anichebe scored two goals in 10 minutes as West Brom won the Midlands derby 2-1 against Birmingham, with Jonathan Grounds getting one back on the stroke of half-time.

Jack Rodwell was sent off for a second yellow card, but Sunderland were not able to break through against Fulham as the Championship side held on for a 0-0 draw to force a replay.

Elsewhere, Reading hit a late winner against Cardiff to win 2-1, while Derby beat Chesterfield 2-0 thanks to a goal from Darren Bent. In the final game of the day, Preston were held 1-1 by Sheffield United.
