Sources: Crystal Palace put in bid for Swansea's Neil Taylor

Crystal Palace are waiting to hear if they have been successful in their bid to sign Swansea full-back Neil Taylor, sources have told ESPN FC.

Recently installed Palace manager Alan Pardew has identified Taylor as his key defensive target as he looks to bolster his options in the full-back positions, but any transfer depends on Swansea finding a suitable replacement for their 25-year-old Wales international.

Reports claiming Tottenham full-back Kyle Naughton is close to agreeing a move to Swansea may suggest the Welsh club are already preparing to let Taylor leave, with the future of Swans striker Bafetimbi Gomis continuing to interest Palace.

Sources told ESPN FC earlier this month that Pardew had made initial moves to sign Gomis in the days following his appointed as Palace boss, but Wilfried Bony's move from Swansea to Manchester City appeared to secure the future of the club's second choice striker.

However, Gomis suggested in an interview with a French TV channel last weekend that he 'would find a solution' to what appears to have been an unhappy few months at Swansea following his free transfer to Wales last summer.

"I have been approached by clubs. I don't know what will happen. Me leaving? It is possible," he reportedly told Canal Plus, with Palace one of the clubs understood to be chasing his services.

Sources have told ESPN FC that Palace hopeful of having "a couple of signings" in place by the time they play their next Premier League game against Everton at the end of this month.
