Chelsea motivated to win four trophies this season, says John Terry

Chelsea captain John Terry said his side are "where you want to be" as they continue their pursuit of four trophies heading into a crucial phase of the season.

Tuesday's Capital One Cup semifinal against Liverpool at Anfield gives Chelsea their first opportunity to put one foot in a first Cup Final for this season, with their confidence bolstered by a healthy five-point lead at the top of the Premier League standings following last weekend's action.

Chelsea's 5-0 win at Swansea on Saturday and Manchester City's home defeat against Arsenal the following day made it a perfect weekend for Jose Mourinho's Blues and Terry was in suitably bullish form as he spoke ahead of the semifinal first leg against Liverpool.

"At this stage, to still be involved in all competitions is where you want to be, and it's down to big players to step up," Terry told the Chelsea website. "There's a motivation in the dressing room to win the league and push on in the Capital One Cup, Champions League and FA Cup.

"We've got top, top players but, as I've said before, until we go and win things, it's not there yet, and that will be the test. We've shown during the first half of the season that we're capable of pushing the top sides and that's what we aim to do."

Terry went on to praise his teammates' efforts in their thumping win at Swansea on Saturday, as he suggested it was the most complete performance of the season so far.

"In the first half at Swansea, the football and the goals were some of the best I've seen," he continued. "Myself and Gaz [Gary Cahill] felt like we weren't doing much apart from applauding what we were seeing in front of us, it was a delight to watch and I really hope we continue that."

Terry became the third highest appearance maker in Chelsea history as he surpassed Frank Lampard by making 649th appearance at Swansea, but the skipper said his focus is on the trip to Anfield and not personal milestones.

"It's going to be a tough place to go," he added. "You kind of forget form and where they are, it goes out of the window, it's Chelsea v Liverpool. It's going to be tough and over the two legs I just hope we're strong enough."
