Seamus Coleman, James McCarthy to stay at Everton - Kevin Sheedy

Everton youth team coach Kevin Sheedy has admitted a majority of Premier League clubs are vulnerable to big money offers for their star players, but he does not expect the highly rated duo of James McCarthy and Seamus Coleman to leave Goodison Park in this month's transfer window.

Former Everton and Republic of Ireland star Sheedy is a huge admirer of McCarthy and Coleman -- who are key men in the current Irish side hoping to qualify for Euro 2016 -- and he is confident the duo have a bright future ahead of them with their current employers, despite interest from Manchester United and Arsenal.

"James and Seamus are vital players in the Everton team and they were two of the primary reasons why we went so close to getting into the Champions League last season," Sheedy told the Sunday World.

"I don't see any reason why there is a danger that they would leave Everton in this transfer window or next summer, but you look at the move Wilfried Bony has made from Swansea to Man City last week and it shows that huge sums of money can be offered for players these days.

"I am sure that Everton are determined to keep hold of our best players and they have shown that they are not a selling club with additions we have made to the squad in the last couple of years, but there is always a possibility that a stupid offer can unsettle a player.

"Hopefully we get James and Seamus fully fit between now and the end of the season and they will help Everton climb the table because that is all we are thinking about at this club.

"Speculation will always be there when you are talking about players of this quality, but no one at this club worries too much about it."

Everton are currently 13th in the Premier League table after a difficult start to the season, and sit 18 points off a top four spot.
