Carlos Tevez could yet sign new contract with Juventus

Carlos Tevez says has yet to make a decision on his long-term future with his Juventus contract set to expire in 18 months' time.

The Argentina international has indicated that he could sign an extension with the Serie A champions, but at the same time warned the fans that he might still opt to move on.

As recently as New Year's Day, Tevez had indicated he would not stay beyond the summer of 2016, with speculation suggesting he would return home to finish his career with Boca Juniors.

After scoring his 12th and 13th goals of the season on his 18th appearance in Sunday evening's 4-0 demolition of Hellas Verona, the 30-year-old hinted he might reconsider prolonging his stay in Turin and delaying his anticipated return to South America, without making any promises.

"I've already said that I don't want to renew my contract at the moment. It's nothing definite but for now I cannot lie to people," Tevez told Sky Sport Italia. "It would be pointless signing now for another four or five years and then leaving before the end of my contract.

"Going home is just an idea right now, but that doesn't mean that it cannot change. Obviously I'm in a club where I feel at home and I'm just making the most of this chance, which is unique for me."

Playing alongside a player as talented as Paul Pogba may be one of the reasons why Tevez is considering sticking around, at least for as long as the Frenchman is still playing for the Bianconeri.

"Paul surprises you every single day," Tevez added. "It is all down to him where he wants to arrive, but he can get better still."

In addition to his 13 league goals this season, Tevez also ended his five-year scoring drought in the Champions League, finding the back of the net three times in Europe to help set up a clash with Borussia Dortmund in the last 16 next month.

He has also earned a recall to the Argentina national team last October.
