Tottenham open talks with Harry Kane over new deal, sources say

Tottenham have opened talks with Harry Kane over a new improved deal at White Hart Lane, sources have told ESPN FC.

Kane has been one of Tottenham's stars this season after winning his place in Mauricio Pochettino's side ahead of the likes of Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor.

The 21-year-old signed a new long-term contract at the start of the season, but Tottenham are ready to reward him for his progress with a new and improved deal, sources said.

Kane is Tottenham's top goal scorer with 17 goals in all competitions this season, and he is being tipped for an England call-up as a result of his exploits.

Kane is a product of the Spurs academy system and the lifelong Spurs supporter has established himself as a big fans' favourite among the White Hart Lane faithful.

Tottenham's hierarchy have recognised the importance of Kane in the side and the long-term plans of the club, sources, said, and they are ready to offer the England Under-21 international a bumper new deal to bring him in line with some of the club's other top earners.
