Tony Pulis won't guarantee striker Brown Ideye's future at West Brom

Head coach Tony Pulis feels West Brom's record signing Brown Ideye has a "cloud" hanging over him but refused to safeguard the striker's future.

The Nigeria international has flopped at The Hawthorns since a 10 million-pound move from Dynamo Kiev in the summer.

He has scored just twice in 14 games as the Baggies battle the drop, having appointed Pulis as Alan Irvine's replacement last month.

Pulis is keen to add extra firepower after assessing the squad and could not guarantee Ideye had a future at The Hawthorns.

He said: "Somebody asked me: 'Will Saido [Berahino] be going?' I can't say he is staying. If someone comes in and offers an enormous amount of money then the club will look at it. That'll be the same with every player.

"Every club I've been at has always worked that way. If something comes up on the table then you sit down and you look at it and you take a view whether it is right for the club, or not.

"That'll be the same with Brown.

"He has got a cloud hanging over him at the moment. If we could lift that cloud from him and release him a little bit then we'd be fine."

The Baggies go to Everton on Monday 14th in the Barclays Premier League ahead of Saturday's games.

Ideye will be in the squad for the trip to Goodison Park as the Baggies look to build on the 1-0 win over Hull last week.

The 26-year-old missed a golden chance against the Tigers, dragging wide when clean through with just Alan McGregor to beat.

Pulis knows Ideye has struggled to adapt but insisted he is not the only player to find it tough in England.

He said: "English football, especially Premier League football, is different to most football on the continent. It can take a while for players to get used to, I'm not just talking about Brown. I'm talking about lots of players. Top, top players find it difficult.

"You have to give them time and also plenty of assurance that if they keep working hard it will come for them."
