FC Salzburg's Alan signs for Guangzhou Evergrande

FC Salzburg striker Alan is leaving the Austrian champions to join Chinese Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande.

The Brazilian forward is the top scorer with eight goals in this season's Europa League after helping Salzburg win Group D and set up a tie with Spanish side Villarreal in the first knock-out round next month.

Alan had a contract until 2018 with Salzburg, which disclosed no financial details of the transfer. Salzburg has also lost defender Andre Ramalho (Leverkusen) and midfielder Kevin Kampl (Dortmund) during the winter break.

Guangzhou Evergrande are managed by former Real Madrid and Juventus defender and 2006 Ballon d'Or winner, Fabio Cannavaro, who replaced fellow Italian Marcello Lippi two months ago.
