Man City's Samir Nasri sidelined for up to a month with calf injury

MANCHESTER -- Samir Nasri will miss Manchester City's game against his former club Arsenal and the potential Premier League title decider against Chelsea after being ruled out for up to a month with a calf injury.

But manager Manuel Pellegrini believes Sergio Aguero, who made his comeback from a knee injury as a substitute against Everton last week, is ready to start against Arsene Wenger's team on Sunday.

Nasri, 27, has been in fine form recently but was hurt in training, and Pellegrini said in a news conference: "We have some problems during the week with Samir Nasri. He has a calf injury."

Asked when the Frenchman will be fit to return, Pellegrini replied: "Around three weeks or a month. Before that is difficult."

Aguero is City's 19-goal top scorer despite sitting out seven games, and Pellegrini believes the 26-year-old is in the right condition to return to the starting XI at the Etihad Stadium.

"He is working with the squad every day so he doesn't have any problems," said the Chilean. "We will see if he starts but he is 100 percent fit."

City captain Vincent Kompany has not featured since he was injured in December's 1-0 win at Leicester but, after being an unused substitute in the 1-1 draw at Goodison Park, is in contention.

Pellegrini said: "I think Vincent is 100 percent fit. He will be okay without problems."

However, Edin Dzeko, who has not played since suffering a calf injury in the warmup at the King Power Stadium, faces a fitness test on Saturday.

"We have some doubts about Edin but he can be," Pellegrini said. "We must wait until tomorrow to see what the doctor says and what the player says and then we will decide."

James Milner, who missed the Everton game as a precautionary measure, is back in contention and Pellegrini reiterated his desire to see the midfielder sign a contract extension, adding: "I hope in a few days he will arrange it."
