Arsenal confirm Krystian Bielik fee agreed with Legia Warsaw

LONDON -- Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed that a fee has been agreed for Legia Warsaw midfielder Krystian Bielik.

Wenger said at his news conference that the player was to undergo a medical on Friday and, asked if everything else was agreed for the deal to go through, he replied: "Yes."

Legia had earlier announced that the 17-year-old was set for a move to the Emirates Stadium, with the player telling the Polish club's official website: "I'm going to London to fulfil my dreams. I hope I will become an Arsenal player soon."

The Guardian had reported that the fee for Bielek, who had also attracted interest from Hamburg, was likely to be around 2.5 million pounds.

Wenger -- who has said he is keen to add "one or two players" to his squad this month -- also hinted that Arsenal could make a move for West Ham defender Winston Reid, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has said he remains hopeful the New Zealand international will agree new terms but Arsenal's interest may complicate the matter.

Asked if Winston Reid is someone the Gunners are looking at, Wenger said: "Of course. We are out on the market and every day, all our scouts, all our people are working hard to find to find a defender.

"At the moment, we are looking more for the defensive department."
