United States teenager Julian Green vows to impress at Hamburg

Julian Green has told Hamburger Morgenpost he wants to fight for his place in the Hamburg side when the 2014-15 Bundesliga season resumes.

Green, 19, joined Hamburg on a one-year-loan, without a view to make the move permanent, from Bayern Munich on the final day of the 2014 summer transfer window.

But the United States attacker, who featured for his nation at the 2014 World Cup, has totalled just 113 minutes for Hamburg since the move.

"I am delighted that I was able to make my Bundesliga debut at HSV," Green said. "But of course I would have liked to win more minutes in the first half of the season, and to help the team."

Green added: "I will give it my all to get a shot. I want to help the team and will show myself in training."

The teenager last featured for Hamburg in their 0-0 draw with Augsburg on Nov. 29 and will be looking to take part in their game against Cologne on Jan. 31 when the Bundesliga resumes following the winter break.
