Pep Guardiola: I'm not the solution for Barcelona

Former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola insists that he will not be returning to the Nou Camp if the club decide to sack Luis Enrique.

The Catalan club have been engulfed in crisis with reports that Enrique has fallen out with star player Lionel Messi coming on the back of a transfer ban that puts them out of action until January 2016 and the sacking of sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta last week.

AS maintain the board has asked former Bayern Munich and Real Madrid boss Jupp Heynckes to come out of retirement and take over until the end of the season, but there have also been reports they could tempt current Bayern Munich boss Guardiola back.

However, Guardiola -- who won three La Liga titles, two Cope del Reys and two Champions League trophies as well as a host of other silverware during his time at the club between 2008-12 -- told a press conference in Doha that he would not be returning.

"I'm not the solution," he said in quotes reported by Mundodeportivo. "There is a lot of great options and I'm sure the right people will make the right decisions to maintain Barca's spot as one of the greatest clubs in the world."

Another rumour circled around Guardiola becoming the club's next sporting director if Joan Laporta returns as president after the upcoming elections, but the man himself scotched that talk saying: "Laporta has never said that. You might have read it but it never came out of his mouth."
