UEFA Team of the Year: Bayern dominate, Ronaldo's record

A record number of votes were cast in the 2014 UEFA Team of the Year poll, with Bayern Munich seeing four players nominated and a record ninth appearance for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Picked from a shortlist of 40 by UEFA.com staff writers, a total of 8.6 million votes were cast to pick the final XI in an attacking 4-3-3, which surpasses 2013 when 6.3 million selections were made.

Ronaldo received the most votes, 623,046, which Messi reclaims his place after missing out last year. La Liga were the top represented league, however, as five of their players were picked, while only Angel Di Maria made it from the English Premier League.
