Lionel Messi may have Barcelona doubts, says club legend Luis Suarez

Lionel Messi could consider a move away from Barcelona if a "stratospheric offer" was made for his signature, former Camp Nou midfielder and club legend Luis Suarez has told Cadena SER.

Messi's future at the Barca has been the subject of speculation in recent days following reports of a fallout with the side's coach Luis Enrique.

On Wednesday, Luis Enrique said there are no problems in his relationship with either Messi or club president Josep Maria Bartomeu.

But ex-Spain international Suarez, who played for the Blaugrana between 1955-1961 and won two La Liga titles, has been quoted by the Mail as casting doubt over the Argentine's future.

"I think Messi is still happy at Barcelona because the club has helped him a lot. They have been very supportive ever since he was a kid," former Ballon d'Or winner Suarez said.

"But he might start to have doubts if a stratospheric offer were to come in. And you have to be careful when a player starts to gets doubts. It could be that Messi's era at Barcelona is nearing an end.

"Barcelona did not perform as we have come to expect from them last season and people might start having doubts if another season like that happens.

"Things have been said that would never have been said before. It's still early, though, and you have to give all this some time."

Meanwhile, Messi has been named in Barcelona's squad for their Copa del Rey meeting with Elche on Thursday night.
