Sources: Swansea target Tottenham defender Kyle Naughton

Swansea are leading the race to sign Tottenham defender Kyle Naughton during the this month's transfer window, sources have told ESPN FC.

Naughton has found himself surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane with Kyle Walker returning to fitness and American international DeAndre Yedlin arriving at the club this month.

The 26-year-old has found it hard to establish himself in Mauricio Pochettino and both parties are ready to move on in January.

Naughton is keen to move on in search of regular first-team football, while Spurs will cash-in on him with the player in the final 18 months of his contract at White Hart Lane.

The likes of Leicester and Crystal Palace are thought to have shown an interest in Naughton, but Swansea have emerged as favourites to secure the defender's signature.

Swansea boss Garry Monk is a long-term admirer of Naughton and he has rekindled his interest in the full-back after missing out on him in the summer.

Monk sees Naughton's vesatility -- he can play on either side of the defence -- as a valuable addition to his plans as he looks to make him his third signing of January following the arrivals of Nelson Oliveira and Matt Grimes.
