Crystal Palace bid for Lille defender Pape Souare - sources

Crystal Palace have made a bid for Lille defender Pape Souare, sources have told ESPN FC.

Eages boss Neil Warnock has made a new left-back a priority in January, and Senegal international Souare has emerged as a top target.

Souare, 24, has impressed at Lille over the last year and has reportedly attracted the interest of Arsenal and QPR in the past.

However, Palace are ready to try and bring the Senegalese defender to the Premier League when the transfer window reopens on Jan. 1.

Souare would be a valuable addition to Warnock's squad as he can also play in midfield.

Palace are understood to have made a bid of 3.5 million pounds for Souare as Warnock looks to bolster his squad options in the New Year.

Palace are currently one position above the relegation zone with 15 points, ahead of 18th-placed Burnley on goal difference.
