PSG booed after goalless draw against Montpellier

Paris Saint-Germain's stuttering form continued as the defending champions were held to a goalless draw at home to Montpellier amid booing at the Parc des Princes in their final match of 2014 on Saturday.

It was a first 0-0 draw at home in nearly two years for PSG, who fell to their first league defeat of the season at Guingamp last weekend. That result came days after their unbeaten season was ended at Barcelona in the Champions League.

Both sides struggled to carve out chances on Saturday and the only shot on target in an abject first half was Zlatan Ibrahimovic's weak free kick.

Monaco moved provisionally fourth, six points below PSG, with a 1-0 win at struggling Metz.

Monaco's recovery continued as they ground out a fourth successive victory without conceding a goal.

Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco broke the deadlock 11 minutes from time, controlling Lacina Traore's pass before slotting past Metz goalkeeper Anthony Mfa.

The result keeps Metz in the bottom three along with Caen and Bastia, who drew their relegation battle 1-1.

Rock-bottom Caen were hoping to move level with their opponents with a win but it was Bastia who took the lead in the 21st minute when Francois Kamano headed in his first Ligue 1 goal.

Bastia would have moved out of the bottom three if they had managed to hold on but Julien Feret scored his first goal for Caen to level matters in the 73rd minute.

Guingamp's three-match winning streak ended in a 1-1 draw at Toulouse.

Guingamp got off to the perfect start when Toulouse goalkeeper Ali Ahamada could only parry Christophe Mandanne's lob and Thibault Giresse scored with the rebound in the eighth minute.

Tongo Doumbia leveled for Toulouse, who had a great chance to take the lead in the 55th, but Wissam Ben Yedder had his effort saved by Jonas Lossl.

Nantes headed into the winter break in high spirits thanks to 2-1 win at Lorient.

Johan Audel was their hero, scoring the winner with 11 minutes left -- just four minutes after climbing off the bench.

Prior to that, Lorient had looked good for a point after Jordan Ayew cancelled out Yacine Bammou's opener for the visitors just before half-time.

Reims scored three second-half goals as they came from behind to stun Rennes with a 3-1 victory.

Mexer headed the hosts in front a minute before the break, but some flowing football after the restart from the visitors turned the match on its head.

Gaetan Charbonnier equalised in the 65th minute, substitute Odair Fortes made it two in the 76th minute and another replacement, Nicolas de Preville, sealed the points at the death.
