A-League: Perth Glory extend lead, Melbourne City win derby

Perth Glory extended their lead at the top of the A-League to six points after thumping lowly Central Coast Mariners 4-1.

Chris Harold opened the scoring in the 33rd minute to set Perth on their way, while they were two ahead almost immediately after thanks to Andy Keogh.

Matt Simon pulled one back just after half-time but substitute Daniel De Silva restored the home side's two-goal cushion in the 71st minute before Harold bookended the scoring eight minutes later.

The result took the Glory clear of second-placed Melbourne Victory, who succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to derby rivals Melbourne City.

The game was goalless until the final minute, when Erik Paartalu wrote his name into local folklore by netting the decider.
