Real Madrid prepare for the Club World Cup final (1:08)

A warm morning greeted Real Madrid in Marrakech, for their first training session since qualifying for the FIFA Club World Cup final. (1:08)

Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez's agent has dismissed suggestions the striker could leave Real Madrid in the January window.

The Mexico international signed from Manchester United on a season-long loan with an option for a permanent switch, but he has had limited playing time and there have been reports that the arrangement could be cut short.

However, AS quotes his representative, Eduardo Hernandez, as saying: "Sometimes the media speculate too much and assume situations. A few days ago I was with the Real Madrid directors and Javier. He will not leave the club [in January].

"Yes, he is eager to play more minutes but he knows that hard work will open up more opportunities. He has his future ahead of him."

Javier Hernandez has has limited involvement since joining the European champions.">

It remains uncertain where he will play beyond the end of the season but the agent added: "If Madrid do not exercise the option to buy it will not be until the end of the season. In any case, we have to consult with the board of Manchester United to know what the future holds for 'Chicharito.'"

He also said that, while the striker has played just 520 minutes for Madrid in all competitions, he accepted that he would have to battle for his place at the Bernabeu.

"Real Madrid are a team full of impressive players and obviously to earn a spot is difficult, but Javier has a great quality in working hard, like he has since the first day, and this is his merit," he said.
