Mario Balotelli bid not in Inter Milan transfer plans, says Javier Zanetti

Inter Milan vice-president Javier Zanetti says he will sit down and discuss transfer targets with coach Roberto Mancini after the weekend's game against Lazio, but Mario Balotelli will not be on any list they draw up.

Balotelli has been linked with a return to Inter this winter, but former Inter captain Zanetti has confirmed that the 24-year-old is not the player they are looking for.

"It's impossible," Zanetti told Sky Sport Italia. "He's a fantastic player, but he's not coming here because he's only just joined Liverpool."

Before Zanetti will discuss transfer targets in public, the Argentinian will first share his thoughts with Mancini, although that will not happen until after Sunday night's clash with Lazio -- the last Serie A match of 2014 and one Inter desperately want to win.

"We've had a complicated time, particularly in terms of results, but we won a fundamental game and now we're hoping to find some continuity by winning our next game and going into the Christmas break with more tranquility," Zanetti added.

"We're up against a side who are doing well and are among the teams fighting for third place, but I think the lads will prepare this game in the best possible way, even if we know it won't be easy.

"After we face Lazio, then we will have a meeting with Mancini and we'll see what we can do to improve the squad. We'll maximise our efforts to strengthen this squad."

Inter go into Sunday night's clash at the San Siro sat 11th in the table and with a deficit of six points on their opponents, who currently lie third.
