Emmanuel Adebayor out, Kyle Walker back for Tottenham vs. Besiktas

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that striker Emmanuel Adebayor will play no part in Thursday's Europa League match against Besiktas, but right-back Kyle Walker is back in the squad after nine months out.

Togolese forward Adebayor has been given the go-ahead to fly home to deal with a personal issue.

Spurs confirmed on Twitter on Wednesday morning: "We can confirm that Emmanuel Adebayor has been given permission to return home for personal reasons. This is a private matter and so we will not be providing any further comment."

Better news for Spurs comes in the form of England defender Walker's return to the squad having been ruled out since March.

The 24-year-old has been recovering from the abdominal injury which ruled him out of the World Cup, but Spurs announced via their Twitter feed that he was in the squad.

The Premier League club are certain to qualify from Group C alongside their Turkish opponents, and avoiding defeat would ensure they finish top.
