Cesena hire Domenico Di Carlo to replace fired Pierpaolo Bisoli

CESENA, Italy -- Struggling Serie A club Cesena have hired Domenico Di Carlo to replace the fired Pierpaolo Bisoli.

The move comes after the team surrendered a two-goal lead in a 3-2 loss at Atalanta on Sunday, which left the club two points above bottom-placed Parma.

Bisoli was in his third season at Cesena, and had previously coached the club from 2008 to 2010, guiding the team from the third division to Serie A.

An announcement on the club's website thanked Bisoli for its "historic run" in recent years.

Di Carlo, who formerly coached Parma, Sampdoria and Chievo Verona, was given a contract until the end of this season.

It's the third coaching change in Serie A this season, following moves at Chievo Verona and Inter Milan.
