Zlatan Ibrahimovic bags winning brace on return for PSG vs. Nantes

Zlatan Ibrahimovic celebrated his return to action with a brace of goals as Paris Saint-Germain beat Nantes 2-1 at the Parc des Princes to climb to the top of Ligue 1.

The talismanic Sweden striker was rested for PSG's midweek draw at Lille due to his troublesome heel injury, but produced a man-of-the-match display against Michel Der Zakarian's side, with goals in the 34th and 48th minutes after Alejandro Bedoya had given Nantes an early lead.

Victory for Laurent Blanc's side meant they leapfrogged Marseille into top spot, although Marcelo Bielsa's team will return to first place should they beat Metz at home on Sunday evening.

St Etienne climbed at least temporarily ahead of rivals Lyon into third place with a 1-0 win over Bastia.

Ricky van Wolfswinkel's second-half goal was enough to settle a tense encounter in the hosts' favour at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

The result extended ASSE's unbeaten run to eight league games, and 11 in all competitions, and they will await Lyon's result at Evian to see if they can hold on to third spot.

Bordeaux remain in the hunt for the Champions League places after a 3-2 win over Lorient at the Stade Chaban-Delmas.

They had to come from behind twice, with Wahbi Khazri and substitute Chieck Diabate cancelling out strikes from Benjamin Jeannot and Vincent Le Goff either side of half-time.

Diabate then added a quickfire third to wrap up the win, which takes Bordeaux up to fourth above Lyon, for 24 hours at least.

Montpellier ended a seven game winless streak away from home with a crushing 4-0 win over in-form Rennes at Stade de la Route de Lorient.

Jonas Martin opened the scoring in the 22nd minute before the visitors ran riot in the second half.

Morgan Sanson made it two after 55 minutes before Lucas Barrios and Anthony Mounier complete the scoring.

The win moves Montpellier up one place to seventh, where they are one point behind Rennes.

A strong second half took Nice to a 3-2 win over Caen and 11th place.

Jordan Amavi's opener was overhauled by goals from Mathieu Duhamel and Lenny Nangis as Caen led 2-1 at the break.

But Nice improved after the break and Eric Bautheac's penalty and Alassane Plea's strike swung the result their way.
