Jose Mourinho: I want points, wins and and titles with Chelsea, not records

LONDON -- Jose Mourinho says he more concerned with "points and titles" than records as Chelsea look to mark new milestones in their trip to Newcastle on Saturday.

Although the Portuguese has never won at St James' Park, he can go 24 games undefeated in all competitions, and claim his 400th Premier League point.

It all feeds into the discussion over whether this Chelsea team can match Arsenal's unbeaten season of 2003-04, but Mourinho was again unwilling to enter the debate.

"Ah, no -- I don't care about it," the Portuguese told Friday's pregame news conference. "I'm not looking for records. I'm looking for points. Victories and points -- and, if possible, at the end of the season, titles.

"I'm not looking for records. It would be a consequence of that, but I'm not worried about that. We just want to win games and gain points. The only thing that matters for me in the Premier League is that I won the title twice. That's the only thing that matters to me."

Along the same lines, he insisted his players are not aware of such milestones, and that they are only focused on victory.

"They don't know the record," he continued. "No. I don't think they know. I wouldn't know. If you didn't tell me 20 times... I don't care about records, which records... The record I want is to win the Premier League three times at this club."

With Mourinho totally unwilling to contemplate such talk, he was asked whether he was in a bad mood.

He added: "No. No. If I don't like the questions... If I feel the questions are not appropriate, I don't participate too much in a dialogue, so I will try and answer in a quick way to kill your mood."
