Sean Dyche urges caution now that Burnley have escaped drop zone

Burnley boss Sean Dyche refused to get carried away as his side climbed out of the relegation zone with Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Newcastle.

The Clarets are now unbeaten in four games having followed up back-to-back wins with consecutive draws.

Burnley moved into 17 place and out of the drop zone at the expense of Hull -- a welcome sight for a club that did not win their first game until Nov. 8.

But Dyche cautioned that it's far too early to count on Burnley's survival.

"Don't get me wrong, I'm not playing it down, I'm just being honest,'' he noted. ''It's a relentless, unforgiving division. 'It's the same mantra as last season: look at one game at a time, focus on it, make sure you're ready for that one, evaluate it after the event and move on to the next one.

''We like that mantra and that's the way we work. 'We've got to keep turning so-nearlies into actuals but there's certainly life in these performances.

''That journey [beating the drop] is a different one and it's important we do what we have done all season and focus on performances.

''Every game we have to deliver.''
