There are no Marco Reus transfer talks with Bayern Munich, says agent

Marco Reus's agent has dismissed reports of negotiations with Bayern Munich, telling kicker he was not in talks with the Bundesliga champions.

Persistent rumours have suggested that the 25-year-old Borussia Dortmund star is set to trigger a 25 million-euro release clause in his contract and join Bayern next summer.

But Dirk Hebel told football magazine kicker: "There is no topic of Marco Reus and FC Bayern Munich, and there are no talks."

On Sunday, Der Spiegel reported that Bayern and BVB had struck a gentlemen's agreement over the future of the Germany international during the Champions League draw in Nyon last December.

Instead of selling Robert Lewandowski to Real Madrid, who stepped up their interest in the Poland international striker late last year, Dortmund reportedly agreed to not interfere with his free transfer to Bayern.

In return, Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told his Dortmund counterpart Hans-Joachim Watzke that his club would not go after Reus, the paper said.

Speaking to kicker, Watzke confirmed the meeting with Rummenigge but insisted they had only discussed Lewandowski and not Reus, who is out until January with an ankle injury.

Watzke has said he is confident that Reus will stay with Dortmund, his hometown club.

Meanwhile, Hebel refused to confirm rumours of talks between his agency and Munich representatives at the Germany vs. Ireland Euro 2016 qualifier match in October 2014.
