Diego Simeone refuses to discuss Atletico Madrid future

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has refused to be drawn on his future following reports he could leave at the end of the season.

Simeone has enjoyed great success since taking charge of Atletico in 2011, winning the Europa League, Copa del Rey and La Liga, as well as reaching last season's Champions League final.

Atletico president Enrique Cerezo recently dismissed the rumours this could be the Argentine's final season at the Vicente Calderon, saying he had "a long contract" and adding in Marca: "We're very happy with him and he's happy with us. The players love him and if you add in the fact that the fans are crazy about him, what more do you want? That we sack him?"

However, the Argentine declined to put a stop to the speculation when addressing the media on Saturday ahead of his team's game against Deportivo La Coruna.

"La Coruna is the only thing I am thinking about," he said. "We are focused on what we do in matches. I don't stop to think about the good or bad things they say in the media.

"We do what is necessary so that we can do our best for the club. The only thing I'm thinking about is tomorrow's game."

On the queries about his future, he added: "I don't pay attention to questions about this."

Atletico are currently third in La Liga, four points behind leaders Real Madrid.
