Improving England move closer to top 10 place in football's world ranking

England are closing in on a place in the world's top 10 footballing nations, the FIFA world rankingĀ for November has revealed.

Roy Hodgson's side, who have won all their games since crashing out of the World Cup in the group stages -- when they failed to chalk up a single victory -- have risen seven places to reach 13th spot in the table.

World Cup winners Germany remain at No. 1, while Argentina and Colombia are in second and third places and France have risen to joint seventh. There have been no new arrivals in, or departures from, the top 10 places.

Just below England, Romania are up six places to 15th and Czech Republic up five to 17th, while Guinea have reached the top 50 with a 17-place rise to No. 38 after their two victories in the African Nations Cup qualifiers.

Faroe Islands' win over Greece in the Euro 2016 qualifiers has seen them move up 82 places to 105th in the standings, while other teams to have leaped by more than 20 places include Jamaica (71st, up 42), Cuba (79th, up 33) and San Marino (180th, up 28).
