Monaco's Layvin Kurzawa held meeting with Manchester City, reports claim

L'Equipe has reported that Monaco left-back Layvin Kurzawa met with Manchester City ahead of their Champions League encounter with Bayern Munich on Tuesday, despite the player appearing to deny the rumour.

BeIN Sports claimed on Tuesday that Kurzawa had been flown by private jet to north-west England upon City's invitation to watch the team's 3-2 victory over Bayern.

The 22-year-old, who made his first senior France appearances in the friendlies with Albania and Sweden earlier this month, tweeted on Tuesday evening: "Sorry for the rumours, but this evening it's the Champions League...in front of the TV."

Though Kurzawa, who is French-born but took the surname of his Polish mother, was not in the Etihad Stadium for Tuesday's game, L'Equipe claimed on Wednesday that he watched the game from a Manchester hotel room a short distance from the ground after having met City officials earlier in the day.

Currently sidelined by a thigh injury, the full-back, who played a bit-part role in Monaco's Ligue 2 title triumph of 2012-13 before establishing himself in the first team last season, is under contract at the Stade Louis II until 2018.
