Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba 'most expensive player on market' - agent

Paul Pogba's agent has compared the French prodigy to former Juventus greats Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Pavel Nedved, and says the midfielder is currently "the most expensive player on the market."

Pogba, 21, left Manchester United for Juventus in 2012 after being frustrated by his lack of playing time at Old Trafford.

The midfielder immediately earned a pivotal role in Turin to help the Bianconeri to back-to-back Serie A titles, as well as establishing himself as first-choice at international level.

Nominated the best young player of the 2014 World Cup, Pogba signed a three-year contract extension with the Italian champions last month in a deal that reportedly tripled his salary, according to Italian media.

That has not stopped some of Europe's biggest clubs considering a move for the youngster, but Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, told GR Parlamento his client would remain in Turin, claiming Le Havre's youth academy product is the game's most marketable asset.

In quotes picked up by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Raiola revealed Juve had "rejected two major offers" for Pogba, and that it was impossible to put a price tag on the player, "because the one who does the buying does that. But today, he's the most expensive player on the market."

Raiola reassured Bianconeri fans that "relations with Juve are great, at least as long as there is nothing on the table."

He added: "Pogba is a world star and now Juventus are strong enough to hold on him for a long time: that's why we extended his contract, even if it is difficult to retain stars; not for Juve but for the Italian league.

"He is a great professional. I see in him the same characteristics as in Ibrahimovic and Nedved: mental and physical strength, talent, a sense of sacrifice. He will win more than one Golden Ball."
