NYON, Switzerland -- Ukraine have been punished by UEFA for another racist incident involving fans in Lviv, having already been banned from hosting World Cup qualifying matches.

UEFA says its disciplinary panel found Ukraine fans guilty of racist behaviour during a European Championship qualifier against Macedonia last month.

Ukraine were fined 58,000 euros ($72,700) and ordered to close a 5,000-seat section of the stadium when Ukraine host Luxembourg in a Euro 2016 qualifier in June.

The match was played at Arena Lviv, even though FIFA barred Ukraine's federation from staging 2018 World Cup qualifiers there. In September 2013, fans made monkey noises at Ukraine's Brazil-born player Edmar during a match against San Marino.

UEFA said the latest case involved fans displaying offensive symbols as well as running on the pitch and throwing fireworks.
