Germany set 2015 friendlies vs. U.S. and Australia, says GM Oliver Bierhoff

Germany is firming up details to play two friendlies in 2015, the first on March 25 against Australia and the second after the Champions League final in Berlin in mid-June, German team general manager Oliver Bierhoff said.

"In June we play the United States and look forward to meeting Jurgen Klinsmann once again," said Bierhoff during the team's news conference ahead of Friday's European Championship qualifier in Nuremberg against Gibraltar.

The friendly vs. Australia will be played at Kaiserslautern. Germany travels to Georgia four days later for a 2016 European Championship qualifier.

United States will be hosted in June, with the date and venue still to be set. Bierhoff suggested that the U.S. match will be played in Germany after the June 6 Champions League final, sometime around the date of Germany's Euro 2016 qualifier vs. Gibraltar around June 13, 2015.

While the U.S. Soccer Federation has had discussions with Germany's governing body, the Deutscher Fussball Bund, the USSF does not announce exhibitions until a contract has been signed.

Germany beat the U.S. 1-0 in its final group match at the World Cup in Brazil before going on to win the title in July.
