PSG secure win over Marseille in Ligue 1, Lyon continue fine run

Paris Saint-Germain closed to gap to Ligue 1 leaders Marseille to a single point after claiming a 2-0 win in arguably the biggest Classique in recent seasons.

Lucas Moura opened the scoring for PSG in the 38th minute before Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani wrapped up the victory five minutes from the final whistle.

Marseille were forced to play out the last 12 minutes with 10 men after Gianelli Imbula was shown a red card for an innocuous looking challenge on Yohan Cabaye.

The result means PSG have won their last four league games and their last six matches in all competitions with OM now top of the standings by a slim margin.

Lyon made it five Ligue 1 wins in a row for the first time since 2008 with a nervy 3-1 victory over Guingamp at the Stade Gerland.

Alexandre Lacazette and Nabil Fekir both struck inside 20 minutes to give the hosts a commanding lead before Anthony Lopes put through his own net on the stroke of half-time to offer hope to visiting Guingamp.

However, Fekir added his second of the game late on to guarantee all three points for Hubert Fournier's men.

Ricky van Wolfswinkel rescued a point as St Etienne struck back for a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw against 10-man Monaco at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.

The visitors took the lead through Jeremy Toulalan 17 minutes in and Van Wolfswinkel levelled matters just before the hour mark, while Tiemoue Bakayoko was sent off for Monaco with 20 minutes remaining.

The result leaves the hosts in sixth place in the Ligue 1 table with Monaco two spots and three points further back.

Reims scored twice in the first half to claim a 2-0 win over 10-man Lille at Stade August Delane II.

Benjamin Moukandjo opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 26th minute after Sebastien Corchia conceded the spot-kick and was sent off as a result, to leave Lille stretched for the rest of the match.

Aissa Mandi then added the second for the home side in the 32nd minute which moved Reims up to 10th place in the standings.
