Premier League: Chelsea and Arsenal win, Newcastle beat Liverpool

Chelsea edged past Queens Park Rangers as they kept control of the Premier League table with a 3-0 win.

Oscar gave the Blues the lead with just over half an hour on the clock with a superb finish with the outside of his right foot, but QPR hit back in the second half when Charlie Austin back-heeled a Leroy Fer shot past Thibaut Courtois.

The Hoops then threatened an upset at the home of their West London rivals, but Eden Hazard won and converted a contested penalty with 15 minutes to play to restore the Blues' lead and secure the victory.

Arsenal left it late to see off a stubborn Burnley side 3-0 at the Emirates.

Burnley -- still without a win following their promotion back to the Premier League -- held on for 70 minutes until Alexis Sanchez headed home Calum Chambers' cross.

Chambers then got his own name on the scoresheet when converting from close range for his first Gunners goal before Alexis added gloss to the scoreline.

In the early kick-off, Ayoze Perez was Newcastle's match-winner for the second time in a week as they edged past Liverpool 1-0 to claim a fourth successive victory.

The former Tenerife frontman, who scored the decisive goal at Tottenham last Sunday, stabbed home from close range with 13 minutes remaining to seal a 1-0 victory -- the Magpies' third on the trot in the league, a feat they had not achieved since November last year.

It was no more than they deserved after another committed display in front of a largely delighted crowd of 52,166, and they might have won more comfortably had goalkeeper Simon Mignolet not pulled off a fine one-on-one save from substitute Remy Cabella four minutes later.

Southampton remain four points behind Chelsea in second place after they saw off Hull City 1-0.

Saints scored the only goal of the game after only three minutes, with Victor Wanyama producing an incredible strike from 40 yards to give his side a third Premier League win in succession.

West Ham United showed their fighting spirit as they battled back from two goals down to claim a 2-2 draw at Stoke City.

On-loan Chelsea attacker Victor Moses scored his first Stoke goal to put the hosts ahead, bundling home after Bojan Krkic's strike was deflected, and Mame Biram Diouf headed home a second on 56 minutes.

Enner Valencia provided a swift response for the Hammers with a diving header on the hour, though, and the Ecuador international then turned provided for Stewart Downing's equaliser.

Everton had to settle for a point at home to 10-man Swansea after a 0-0 draw.

Swansea were reduced to 10 men in the 72nd minute when Jonjo Shelvey picked up a second yellow card but, while Romelu Lukaku and Leighton Baines had late chances, Roberto Martinez's men could not force a goal.

Meanwhile, an Esteban Cambiasso own goal gave West Bromwich Albion a 1-0 victory over Leicester City.

West Brom took the lead early in the second half as the ball was headed against Cambiasso, who deflected the ball into his own net, and that proved enough to give the Baggies the points.
