Sergio Aguero will not face FA action for Mark Noble incident

Sergio Aguero has been cleared to face Manchester United in Sunday's derby as the Football Association ruled out taking disciplinary action against the Argentina international.

Aguero, 26, made a late challenge on West Ham midfielder Mark Noble in Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Upton Park and Sam Allardyce had said after the match: "Mark was complaining about it at half-time. It was a dangerous tackle and the referee was right in front of it."

It prompted speculation as to whether Aguero would face retrospective action and the possibility of a three-match ban, which would have ruled him out of Sunday's Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium.

However, while Aguero was not punished by referee Martin Atkinson at the time, it was deemed an "on-the-ball" incident that the official had seen, meaning he could not be given any later sanction.

Former Atletico Madrid forward Aguero has scored five goals in his last six games against United, including a brace at the Etihad Stadium last season.
