Patrice Evra faces a month on the sidelines because of the thigh injury that ruled him out of Juventus' 2-0 win over Palermo on Sunday.

Evra picked up the injury in training for the Bianconeri last week, and a scan carried out on Monday confirmed that he had torn part of his left thigh muscle.

A 30-day break for him to regain full fitness has been forecast, according to the Italian club's official website.

The French full-back joined Juventus from Manchester United in the summer and has appeared in four Serie A matches, sitting out the other four including Sunday's, for which he was not included in the squad because of his injury.

Evra, 33, also featured in Juve's Champions League ties against Malmo and Atletico Madrid, but was on the bench for the game at Olympiakos last week.

His place on the left-hand side for key fixtures against Olympiakos and Malmo in Europe and Genoa and Lazio in Serie A, is likely to be taken by Kwadwo Asamoah, who played each time Evra was not selected.

Juve have a three-point lead over Roma at the top of Serie A thanks to seven wins and one draw from eight games.
