Jurgen Klopp says he 'won't pack it in' as Borussia Dortmund coach

Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp admitted his side's poor start to the Bundesliga season had left him feeling the strain but said: "You don't have to worry about me. I won't pack it in -- everything's fine."

A haul of just seven points from eight games has left BVB languishing in 14th place in the table, with their most recent league match bringing a 2-1 defeat at Cologne.

They have picked up only one point from their last five games in what sporting director Michael Zorc has described as their "most difficult time in years."

Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke told Bild Klopp would not quit and, speaking ahead of the weekend home game against Hannover, the coach said: "If I give the impression that I have taken a few knocks, that is because that's what has happened.

"I think a lot about football at the moment, and not all of those thoughts are positive. But you don't have to worry about me. I won't pack it in -- everything's fine."

He warned that Dortmund faced "a lot of hard work" against Hannover, adding: "Should they sit deep, we won't have 40 chances. Should they counter-attack, we have to be careful."

Klopp said both Mats Hummels and Shinji Kagawa, substituted in the 4-0 Champions League win at Galatasaray, could play but that Ilkay Gundogan had been feeling the physical strain following his return to first football after 14 months.

However, midfielder Sven Bender did not break his elbow in Turkey as had been feared, suffering only a strain, and the club said he may be available for selection.
