Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul will be assessed before Saturday's Premier League match against Leicester after scans on his elbow injury showed ligament damage. Krul, 26, sustained the problem during a training session with Netherlands on Saturday and returned to Tyneside before the Oranje's shock 2-0 loss in Iceland on Monday. "Newcastle United have received the results of goalkeeper Tim Krul's scan on Monday," a statement on the club's official website read. "It showed ligament damage to his left elbow and Krul will be assessed further by the Magpies' medical staff ahead of Saturday's Barclays Premier League fixture against Leicester City." Rob Elliot is expected to deputise against the Foxes at St James' Park as Alan Pardew's side continue their pursuit of a first Premier League win of the season.
