Markovic asks for 'a little bit more time' to ignite his Liverpool career

Liverpool new-boy Lazar Markovic has insisted he will make his mark in Brendan Rodgers' side, despite a difficult first few weeks at Anfield.

Markovic arrived from Benfica in July in a deal worth a reported 20 million pounds, with his bullish media comments suggesting he was confident of helping Liverpool win the Premier League title in his first season at the club.

Those lofty ambitions may have been diluted by his less than dynamic displays in the first seven games of the season, but the Serbian winger has insisted he is not worried by him limited impact to date.

"You know how things go in football, I'm getting there and adjusting well," he is quoted in the Daily Mirror. "It will take a little more time, but, all in all, I feel okay.

"I feel great there and everybody has been great with me. I could not wish for more. I'm happy and that is the most important thing.

"My teammate is the legendary Steven Gerrard, the fans love me and Anfield is great. But, as I said, I just need a little bit more time."

Markovic is currently with the Serbian national team preparing for Euro 2016 qualifiers against Armenia and Albania.
