Mesut Ozil to undergo MRI scan, a doubt for Germany's Euro 2016 ties

Mesut Ozil has travelled to Munich to undergo an MRI scan ahead of Germany's upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers, a spokesperson for the German Football Association (DFB) has confirmed.

Ozil, 25, played the full 90 minutes for Arsenal in Sunday's 2-0 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

However, the midfielder joined up with the Germany squad in Frankfurt with a left knee problem and did not take part in the first training session on Tuesday, before being sent on to Munich for precautionary tests with team doctor Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt the following day.

DFB spokesperson Jens Grittner wrote on Twitter: "Second training without [Andre] Schurrle (individually at the hotel) and Ozil. He had travelled with knee problems, is to have an MRI scan in Munich."

Germany visit Poland on Saturday before hosting Republic of Ireland on Tuesday as they continue their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign, which started with a 2-1 defeat of Scotland.
